How To Prevent Ragging In The Engineering Campuses?

This is a very serious issue for which voices should be raised. It cannot be ignored and here are some ways to prevent it.

1. Stricter rules

There should be strict rules formulated by keeping this in mind and no flexibility should be allowed. Those who have not been following any of these crafted rules should be castes out or must pay back. They should be forced to pay fines and public apologies.

2. Keep an eye out

Students and other faculty members should keep an eye out on their colleagues and report any suspicious unusual behavior in the students.

3. Vigilant hostels

The hostel warden as well as other staff should be more attentive than what they are right now and keep an eye out to notice any unusual behavior.


4. Severe punishment

You can put a stop to ragging and other issues by imposing a heavy fine and strict laws against them. Never let the bully run away.

5. Anti ragging groups

The college should make sure that anti ragging communities are running properly in their colleges and every student made aware of them. They should push every student to participate in this group.

HOW TO IDENTIFY RAGGED STUDENTS?

1. Missing classes

Report your teacher if your friend is being suspicious about regularly missing classes.

2. Dull, lost and stressed

Try to cheer up your friends by talking to them and making them share with you.

3. Downgrading performance

If your friend is as good as he came but now is somehow dull and there is a downward performance then trust your guilt and report him.

4. Low self esteem or confidence

Ragging always leads to lack of self confidence and self esteem. It is the right of a student to have a healthy and safe environment. Ragging situations are mostly faced in medical or engineering colleges. If your college is free of ragging, which it should be, get that printed in your engineering college brochure because it will attract a lot of students.
